Fuji F700 Digital Camera (Fujifilm Finepix F700)
Member Name: phillsm
Advantages: great ergonmics, excellent picture quality, small and compact Disadvantages: None
Well, well, this camera certainly generates some fairly diverse reviews. It would appear to be a love it or hate situation with little in-between. I've had mine about a month now and have taken hundreds of photographs and I'm on the side of the "love it's". Having read the magazine reviews in the UK they are generally quite full of praise - some very much so - I think it was Digital Photography magazine that gave it 93%. Personally I like the pictures produced by Fuji and this camera does a great job in improving the dynamic range with lovely colourful pictures - better than my last camera which was a Konica KD-500Z. I particularly like the way you can use the manual controls to produce the effects you want. I find that it does a terrific job at portrait pictures and also landscapes. Battery life seems good and with a 512k Xpicture card it can take 320 photos at the highest setting (excepting raw). The video is also excellent at 30 frames per second and a resolution of 640x480 - good enough to show on your TV. Oh yes and let's not forget that it takes pretty good macro photos as well.
