Fujifilm Finepix J30
Advantages: Takes high resolution pictures - Array of features built in - Rechargable batteries - USB included
Disadvantages: Glare from sun can make the LCD display harder to view
The Fujifilm Finepix J30 (henceforth referred to as the 'J30') is a relatively cheap, high quality camera. It sports 12.2 megapixels, 3 x optical zoom, 5.7 digital zoom, a 2.7" LCD display, a built in microphone, a storage capacity of 32GB (SD) and a rechargeable Li-ion battery. Wrist strap and USB cable are also included.
This is the camera I use right now, and I love it. The 12.2 megapixel camera produces crisp, clear, high resolution pictures (max 4000x3000 in JPEG format) that look stunning every time. The 3x optical zoom doesn't sound much, but works well and quality isn't reduced much when you push it all the way. The LCD display is a nice size but is harder to see when you're out in direct sunlight.
Like most cameras it supports SD memory cards and the supplied USB cable allows you to easily transfer pictures to and fro. The J30 also has other built in features which I found worked very well, including: Red eye correction, flash, self timer, anti blur, face detection and video capture, which looks great and can save as either AVI or MJPEG, all though the max res is only 640x480 and records at 30 fps (frames per second).
All of the above for under £80 is a fantastic deal in my opinion. The rechargeable battery really makes this camera stay at under £80 too - You needn't waste money on AA batteries :D
Summary: Great camera from Fujifilm, brimming with features and at a suprisingly low price.
