I'm no professional photographer but I do like taking photos to remember the sublime to the ridiculous events in my life....this little point and shoot is ideal. It's really easy to use, has a 3x zoom and face detection. It's got a plug in rechargeable battery and has good basic functions that are understandable. It is reasonably priced too.
I find the menu no problem to navigate around and my 9 year old often uses it with no problem. The zoom is separate from the other functions at the top of the camera which makes it simple to find when you're taking snaps. The photos come out very clearly and it won't let you take it or gives you a warning if the snap is going to come out a bit wonky or not very clear....ideal for the kids!!
The only negatives are that the battery needs charging quite regularly and if you look at all your photos every time you take them (especially if you're a bit pi**ed) the battery runs out in a few hours....maybe that's better though towards the end of the night!! :)
I got given this camera in black a year ago for Christmas, and so far it hasn't failed on me. I would like to say it is a fantastic buy, but I think you could do better. For what you pay for it, you can't really go wrong however the problem that annoys me with it is that it sometimes the focus blurs and is hard to get it off of the blurryness.
It is very small and handy - fits in any camera case or even your pocket! the flash is also very good on it. I have used it a lot since I got it, but I bought a new memory card to use in it, as the one it came with could only hold about 90 pictures. Not sure how much video.
The charger is one of my favourite things about this camera, because it has now wires coming out of it. It just plugs into a socket and the battery inserts right in, showing a green light when it is fully charged.
The battery life is pretty good and what last you the whole day of constant use, and when the camera is held very still to take photos it takes them in very good quality :)
thanks for reading!
The Fujifilm Finepix JV150 is an absolute bargain provided that you can pick one up for less than £100. We got ours from Argos for around that money reduced from £150.
Close up, portrait pictures, and stills are great from a normal distance, however I think that the zoom capabilities are somewhat lacking when presented on the 2.7inch lcd screen however they are quite acceptable once you are viewing them on a larger computer screen.
The camera shoots well in all modes, with easily accessable guides and tips from the options.
We have yet to shoot a HD movie from it yet though, but am somewhat reluctant due to the images from the lcd screen, and transition of frames on said screen seem 'blocky'.
The battery life will surpass the length of any movie capture on the SD card, although we seem to find it needs rechrging after 20 times on and off taking about 200 - 300 photos at hig hresolution.
We are more than happy with the performance of the camera for it's budget price, but would have been dissapointed with it at its original selling price of £200
Well done Fujifilm, yet another great addition to the well trusted brand.
