Advantages: Light, rechargeable battery
Disadvantages: More suited for amateurs
I received this camera for a birthday present last year in red.
This camera is available in black and red. It has a 14million megapixel resolution with a 5x optical zoom. The camera has a small internal memory but this can be upgraded with a memory card (this is compatible with both SD and SDHC memory card) It comes with a 2.7" viewing screen on the rear side for lining up shots and for reviewing them later. It has several different picture modes which means finding the perfect setting for a shot is easy. It also comes with special modes such as face recognition, blink detection and smile and shoot. It also has autofocus making it easy for amateurs to take quality pictures. The battery is rechargeable and there is a charger included in the box. It also comes with a USB cable for plugging into the computer. This normally retails around £60.
I don't pretend to be a professional, in fact I only really use this camera for family shots and things that catch my eye but I am very pleased with this camera. For an amateur like me, it makes it really easy to take quality, professional looking pictures. With the extras like blink detection and smile and shoot, I can easily just point the camera and press the button and it takes the best photo it can. The 14 megapixel resolution makes every photo look bright and very good quality.
I have taken photos in many different light sources from bright sunlight to dark nightclubs and this has coped well with them all. The viewing screen is also a good size for the size of the camera. The fact it's quite a small camera means it's perfect for throwing in a bag and means I can take it anywhere with me.
Another plus point to this was that it comes with a rechargeable battery which is good as there is no further outlay on batteries but also could be a negative as when you are out and the battery runs out, you are left without the option to buy replacements. Luckily, as long as you keep it charged up, the battery does seem to last a long time.
All in all, I would say this is a really decent mid range camera and it would suit many types of photographers.
Summary: Good camera for an amateur photographer
