Advantages: Compact, do not need to carry around lenses but get still able to use like a DSLR

Disadvantages: Not great for indoor shots

For anyone wanting to get more out of there camera but not wanting to spend a fortune on a DSLR and all accessories then this is the camera to choose.

Light enough to carry around without a bag, do not need any accessories apart from maybe a tripod for macro work etc. But at the other end its large enough to hold steadily without camera shake affecting the shots.

Batteries last a very long time (well over a few weeks for me) when continuosly using with flash. Best bet is to buy some rechargable batteries recommended as it takes 4 AA.

Excellent video recording quality, it zooms in itself when in this mode, I can get around 30 mins recording time while set on highest quality images.

Not so great on indoor shots for me, have heard it helps sometimes to put a peice of tissue over the flash to soften it slightly.

Brilliant at wildlife and landscape shots with 10x optical zoom. Can be used on auto for those who are a bit scared of all the settings, also has different scene modes where it will change the settings for you (landscape, portrait, action shots etc).

All round its a great camera for the price, great starter if you want to get into photography more but need to learn.

Self timer is great for family shots that you want to be in too.

Summary: Well worth it for the money.
