What Fuji say:

Fujifilm is pleased to announce the new FinePix S5700, a refinement of its predecessor, the FinePix S5600. The modifications to the FinePix S5700 mean it is easier to use than anything that has gone before.

It's a faithful companion for every event, from nights out, the kids' school play or sports day, right through to countryside walks and family holidays. It's the ultimate camera for every occasion and perfect for users who always want a camera to hand, but prefer to get creative, not technical, with their photography.

Shoulder strap

When I ordered the camera, there were different options and offers avalable. I believe I paid £132.99 and got the camera (plus accessories), camera case, and rechargable batteries. (although I should have checked the batteries first, as I bought some with a plug suitable only for french plug sockets... whoops!)

Personal Opinion:

Look:

The camera is a bulky but compact little gem! I like the chunky feeling, it feels more professional, and makes me feel more important, and confidenting photographs! It also prompts a lot of comments on how fancy it is... which I love, as it's simplicity is the best bit!

It isnt angular either, which is nice aesthetically, but also makes it much more pleasant to hold.

Usability:

It is very very easy to get your head around, with an easy dial menu, and simple arrows to navigate and an 'enter' button (situated next to the screen).

The features are all easy to access and simple to use, making it ideal for minimal faffing around if needing to take a quick shot, and to limit added stress when arranging your photograph.

Perfect for someone wanting to up their photography from just snapshots, as there are great features such as super macro (intense close ups) which make photos look hundreds of times better :)

Having said that, it's also great for a pro photographer wanting something a little simpler to take on holiday, but that is still packed with features, but just a little less heavy duty!

Photos themselves:

The photos taken are superb quality, with different functions such as flash, stabiliser, portrait, macro etc. All these features help to make photos stand out, and this camera has served me extremely well in my photography course (of which I am predicted an A - thanks to this little gem!)

The photos are good, but they are made even better with some slight tweaking. Obviously photoshop is ideal, but expensive. I use that at college, but for some easy and quick fixes, I use Picasa - a google application. It's free and does great things for your photos, such as B+W, sepia, graduated tint, focal B+W, contrast, sharpen/blur etc. Great for simple editing!

Overall, this camera is a brilliant digital SLR which is perfect for every occasion, whether taking professional portraits, event photography etc, or just a family taking some holiday shots as it's easy enough for the kids to use too! Highly reccomended to anyone investigating purchasing a great camera.

Summary: Ace camera! I love it to bits!
