It has many more functions and settings. even now i wouldnt say I fully know the camera 100% and i still find new things on it or in magazines. I bought this camera last year, prior to my DREAM trip to Peru- where I spent a lot of time in some very harsh weather conditions, whilst doing the INca trail in the Andes mountains and various other high altitude (very high altitude!) parts of the Andes. Anyways, this camera is one of my FAVOURITE "loves of my life". The pictures i have taken with it(and I'm no professional photographer, but perhaps a good amateur one ;-) - has brought me and load sof other people MUCH joy. I'm expecially in to Nature photography. animals, birds, sun sets(including some deep red ones we've had here in Belfast), and MOUNTAINS! And much much more! This camera, ...  Read the complete review

Having studied both Graphic Design and Photography and always been a keen artist with many a camera, I asked Santa to buy me this amazing camera for Christmas 2007. Well it was between this and it's predecessor the S5700. On opening this I was exstatic that this is the one I got as it more than meets even my professional expectations. The camera is not a compact, obviously, but is not huge and chunky either. I think it is quite cute and is almost mini SLR sized. It is black and comfy to hold, yet unexpectedly light. The camera is very durable and solid and can certainly pack a fair few punches. There are a number of settings including landscape, ...  Read the complete review

Fujifilm Finepix S5800: great "semi-pro" camera!!! (380 words)

My husband bought me this camera nearly 2years ago and I LOVE it to bits. I wanted a digital SLR but at the time but due to cost was unable to get 1. A friend who is a professiona photographer suggested i get a "bridge camera", and this is what this is. I personally like fuji as a make and feel the products are easy to use and good quality but not too expensive. I do have 2 other fujifim camers (Z35 and the A500) which are ok for what they are, and are used by husband and children. This took a bit of getting used to both in size and capability, having previously only used the above 2 small cameras. It has many more functions and ...  Read the complete review

Wait for a specia offer! (266 words)

I bought this camera 12 months ago for £100 on amazon. The price it is advertised at now is more than double that (£264.99). Therefore, my first recommendation is: WAIT FOR A SPECIAL OFFER! This is an amazing camera. We took it to New Zealand for a month's holiday and we've taken some of the most spectacular photos I've ever seen. For example, a perfect shot of a humpback whale breaching about 50 metres away, but because of the 10 x digital zoom, it has come out perfectly. There are numerous settings on the camera, including close up, night view, portrait and snow scene. There is also the option of taking video footage with sound. If you buy a good sized memory card, you  Read the complete review

[Can I apologize now for the lack of correct photography terminology. I am a beginner and am still trying to understand the terminology] I picked this camera up a few years back, when I wanted something that was a step up from the simple point and shoot digital cameras I was used to. This was just under £100 in Argos so was within the price range I was looking for and providing everything I wanted. The camera itself comes boxed with the standard accessories; lens cap, neck strap, instruction manual, USB cable, software CD and the camera itself. Although there is no carry bag or memory card included, I suppose not many cameras come with those these ...  Read the complete review
