I bought this for my son who has started photography at college and was told it was the best for the amount of money. It cost £120 from Asda when we bought it but you can get decent deals out there. The camera is black and quite chunky but quite light. It feels very solid and my son has dropped it 4 times and it isnt even scratched, so it is durable. The settings on it are multiple including macro, super macro, landscape, portrait, manual ( you can set the aperture and white balance to take your perfect photo ), shake reduction, video camera to take movies, natural light, and to special modes named special 1 and special 2. It has a 2.5 ...  Read the complete review

Having studied both Graphic Design and Photography and always been a keen artist with many a camera, I asked Santa to buy me this amazing camera for Christmas 2007. Well it was between this and it's predecessor the S5700. On opening this I was exstatic that this is the one I got as it more than meets even my professional expectations. The camera is not a compact, obviously, but is not huge and chunky either. I think it is quite cute and is almost mini SLR sized. It is black and comfy to hold, yet unexpectedly light. The camera is very durable and solid and can certainly pack a fair few punches. There are a number of settings including landscape, ...  Read the complete review

I bought this camera 12 months ago for £100 on amazon. The price it is advertised at now is more than double that (£264.99). Therefore, my first recommendation is: WAIT FOR A SPECIAL OFFER! This is an amazing camera. We took it to New Zealand for a month's holiday and we've taken some of the most spectacular photos I've ever seen. For example, a perfect shot of a humpback whale breaching about 50 metres away, but because of the 10 x digital zoom, it has come out perfectly. There are numerous settings on the camera, including close up, night view, portrait and snow scene. There is also the option of taking video footage with sound. I bought this camera nearly a year ago as my first OWN digital camera. It was around £100 from Argos and it is a perfect camera for me. With 8million megapixels and a 10x optical zoom, so many different settings from movie, natural, portrait to macro and supermacro. It delivers great image quality and the macro and supermacro settings are amazing. I enjoy taking pictures of flowers so the macro settings are perfect for this. Even printing at home gives great quality. The camera is black and very sleek, although its chunky and easy to keep a hold of. My sister's boyfriend has MS and has the same camera, he only has use of his right hand so he can keep a good grip on the ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Fujifilm Finepix S5800: Bang on for the budget (189 words)

Before buying this camera we did quite a bit of research and all the reviews said that this camera was excellent value for the price tag but was concerned that the reviews were too good to be true. They weren't, this camera has helped me and my boyfriend take photos that we would have never thought possible. I am very impressed with the image quality especially when using the zoom - there is little to no pixelation. There are issues though, shooting speed is not particularly fast - you have to pre-empt the shot you want to take which isn't always possible. Its picture quality deteriorates quite considerbaly in low light and you need to take ...  Read the complete review
