Advantages: Very professional

Disadvantages: None

I bought this for my son who has started photography at college and was told it was the best for the amount of money. It cost £120 from Asda when we bought it but you can get decent deals out there.

The camera is black and quite chunky but quite light. It feels very solid and my son has dropped it 4 times and it isnt even scratched, so it is durable.

The settings on it are multiple including macro, super macro, landscape, portrait, manual ( you can set the aperture and white balance to take your perfect photo ), shake reduction, video camera to take movies, natural light, and to special modes named special 1 and special 2.

It has a 2.5 inch lcd screen which is a good size to view through. it is also a 8 megapixel camera. It has 10 x optical zoom. It has auto focus (area, multi and centre).

The internal memory is 26mb but this can be expanded with an xd or sd card which you can easily buy.

It requires 4 x AA batteries. It comes with a lens cap, shoulder strap, AV cable, USB cable, and a CD rom.

This is a brilliant camera with loads of features and it is very professional looking camera. For the money this is an excellent buy. I would recommend this camera to anyone who is on a photography course or an amateur photographer.

Summary: A great camera for the budding photographer

10x optical zoom sounds great and I like the £120 price tag, that sounds very decent for a DSLR, though no doubt there are people who would say that this isn't a 'proper' SLR camera, just due to its budget price probably... 8 megapixel sounds good enough for me though... hmmm, tempting, ive only ever really used compact point and shoot cameras before but I do like photography. Its a shame I've already spent a fair bit on other gadgets lately. I'll take a note of the model number for future reference. Good review...
