Advantages: dual image stabilizer, uses AA batteries and SD cards, 18x zoom

Disadvantages: use of 4 batteries adds to the weight

I bought my FinePix S8000fd camera a year ago and highly recommend it. The 18x optical zoom is brilliant and when the digital zoom is added the detail is unbelievable for this price of camera. A view out to sea can change from a dot in the water to full detail on a boat. As I have mobility problems the image stabilization is great and the shape of the grip means I can hold it safely with one hand to take my pictures. As the quality of the photos is so good I have had some published in a magazine. Two of my friends with similar disabilities have tried my camera and then purchased one for themselves. As I take hundreds of photos I particularly like being able to use rechargeable AA batteries so always have some spare and the SD cards are so easy to change and then put into a computer to edit. What more can I say - I love it.
