This camera was a great deal for the money. At first it had everthing I was looking for. It was stylish and classy, fit in my small carry-on bag, nice battery life, and good visual. It''s been an excellent little camera to pack around from vacation spot, to home, to the school in which I work. The main reason for only giving this product 3 stars is the fact that my audio is very low and has been since day one during playback both on the camera and downloaded. I also have had a lot of trouble using some of my video editing software with this particular file type. Perhaps most importantly, is the not so durable nature of the camera. The first time I dropped it, It was immediately nicked. It also got scratched in my luggage on it''s first venture out of the box, while it was still in it''s case. A second fall (probably related to the sleek design I first loved about the camera)hit along the back corner of the casing, and the battery does not close all the way inside any more. I have only used this camera for a few trips, and I have loved it while it has lasted, but it''s not meant to be a truly durable camera. I''d invest next time in a more expensive and better quality camcorder that isn''t gonna explode if it hits a table or falls. Also, one with hand grips, as this one seems to slide out of my hands every time i use it.
This is a product I really did want to review, this has to be the best value camera on the market at the moment. This product makes the ideal camera to take away on a trip out, a night out or on a holiday. Having dropped this camera on several occasions I can certainly vouch for its durability. The camera is very easy to use and basically does what you expect from a camera, a decent zoom for the casual user. Overall I think this is the camera for people like me who enjoy taking pics but are not real serious photographer. The appearance of the camera is very smart, modern and stylish although I do always feel the lens in the top right looks unusual but that's just me. The SD card holds more than enough for any trip out even if you are trigger happy once you get behind the lens. The transfer of pictures to your laptop is really easy as you would expect, a really excellent product. One small problem with the product is charging the battery separate to the camera.
I bought this camera a whole 4 years ago before a holiday to Prague.
I went into the shop and said (shamelessly) 'I am a girl, i don't care about technology, i have a budget of £100 and i want a good camera that will take excellent pictures without me having to read a novel to find out how. And it has to look good!'
That is exactly what i got! Cost me £80 with money left to buy accessories. Bright Orange, small and very easy to use. To this day i have not read a single instruction. It is simple to use, compact and does take extremely good pictures. Now if you are a technology buff and you want something that takes mega pictures for semi-professional or professional, you just would not look at this camera. If you are a normal person who wants to remember your special times with good quality pictures without the fuss, then this is the perfect camera. It comes in a range of colours with all the bits to connect to the computer and telly and is so easy to develop at any place that does photos.
All the buttons and functions are self explanatory so you can navigate your way through them easily without checking the book. It has 3 x optical zoom, anti-shake and close up shots. And what i have found really useful and helpful in getting a better picture is the ability to turn the flash off!
I'm not going to go on about all the technological data which you can easily look up because i don't think that this camera needs all the buff written about, you just need to know that it you aren't that way minded but you want a decent picture, easily, then this is a good camera for you, at a really good price. And as i have had mine a while and used it loads and loads and is still in perfect condition and order, it is a good buy!
I don't take that many photographs other than the normal holiday and party photos that everyone takes, so had never really bothered to get a good camera. I was worried about getting a digital camera as I thought they would be difficult to use so did not want to spend a great deal, but did want a camera that looked good, was easy to use and provided good pictures. Not asking much am I?
This is a 7 2 megapixel camera and I paid £89 for it in 2008. Despite buying a better one for a holiday to Shanghai I have since gone back to using this when I know I need a reliable camera. I carry it with me every day and while it is a bit chipped around the edges the blue is still as bright as when I bought it.
It was easy to use from the start and the photographs were clear and within days I got used to the idea of being able to hold the camera up and not right in front of my eyes. It is just a quick click of the controls to see of you are happy with the picture or if you want to delete it. Deleting is easy and the good thing is that you are given a second chance so here you have to click twice to delete so there is no reason you should delete one by accident.
You can also lock pictures so as if you want to delete a lot at once the good ones don't go. When I need to have photographs of locations for the mystery shopping I do it is helpful to be able to delete quickly as often I take 4 or 5 at a time to make sure the companies are happy with them. Every few months I just check the ones I want to lock and then delete the rest
As it is made of metal it is slightly heavier than many more modern cameras but not so heavy that it causes a problem when carrying it around. It fits easily into a small going out bag so I can take it everywhere with me.
It helps that there is a selection of flash options, meaning that I can choose off, auto flash or slow so even if I am outdoors at night the picture quality is good when downloaded.
The lens is a 3 time zoom and this again is easy to operate as it is just a matter of clicking on one button to increase and then the opposite one to decrease. Although focus adjustment is automatic there are slight problems with taking something very close as it is extremely blurry when downloaded.
The display is 2.5" so clearly big enough to get a good view of what you have taken and I find I can see right away if I need to retake. Recharging the battery is easy as it just slips out and is placed into a cradle that gets plugged into the mains.
Width 9.1 cm
Depth 1.9 cm
Height 5.7 cm
Weight 110 g
This is a camera that I will easily give 5 stars and I hope that in the future when I do need to change again, I can find that it is still on the market
This camera comes in various colours - I chose the purple and was very happy with my choice. It looks very stylish and when choosing this was the most stylish on the shelf - better than boring silver.
The good points about this camera is as already stated is the look of it - stylish and you get to choose your favourite colour. It's light and small enough to fit easily into a handbag on a night out. It is very durable as I have had this camera now for a few years and has been taken everywhere with me and still works like the day I bought it. The slide action of the camera is easy to use and the menu screen is also very easy to navigate. The picture quality is good for the price, I have captured very special moments on this camera & have been more than happy with the prints!
However the not so good points for this camera is it can be quite slow to react - having a 2 year old it is a necessity to be able to take photo's quickly & I have on a few occasions caught the back of her head as she has turned around in the time its taken for the camera to take the shot (not sure if this is true for most digital cameras of this price range though).
It's not very good for night time use as the screen at the back of the camera is practically imposible to see what you are taking a photo of and I had to use the little spy hole (like an old camera) to be able to use at night - the picture turns out fine though due to the flash.
Due to the price I would say you get alot for your money and the downsides you can live with.
Quite good camera, it is relatively easy to use. The sliding lense cover is quite nifty although in my experience this has opened up whilst in my pocket or bag.
The battery life of the camera is not brilliant and the USB cable to the PC does not allow the camera to be powered or charged whilst plugged in so when uploading photographs the battery must be sufficiently charged beforehand.
The zoom on the camera is not great either so it is only is photographing things at a closer range.
The colour of the photographs taken is not brilliant, I have fiddled around with all the settings but have been unable to improve this.
The camera used infra-red technology meaning photographs can be shared with others who#s cameras have infra-red.
If you are looking for great quality images, I would not choose this camera but if it for everyday, happy snaps, then it is suitable.
i bought this camera in pink as a replacement for the 4 previous cameras that have not survived long in my hands. i was not expecting much of this one either, but you can pick one up at a very good price from various places.
I have now had this camera a year, and it has survived drinks being split all over it, repeatedly being dropped, two holidays and various other mishaps.
I am incredibly impressed with the picture quality that comes from this camera, produces some beautiful photos (and girls, makes your skin look incredible! even after a long night out...)
it has a lot of different settings to apply that can even increase and adapt the quality of photos to the lighting in the room, but even with it just on the 'auto' setting it takes excellent pictures.
it is VERY easy to use, with minimal buttons, the only problem i have found is that if your not used to the camera the video button is right next to the take a picture button, so when someone else is taking a photo it can result in a video. and that is literally the only problem i have found with it!
all in all, i would DEFINATELY recommend this camera.
I got this as a 2nd camera so that I didn't have to take my larger more expensive camera out to places such as pubs etc. However, I was so impressed with the quality of photo's that this camera produces that I hardly ever use my old one! It is small enough to have with you all the time, and takes good, sharp, clear photo's at the same time. It Looks great, and the metal casing feels solid when you use it. I got the pink version, but the other colours all look great too, I always get comments about it when I'm out and about. Lots of great features including face recognition which comes in really handy. The controls are very simple to use, so it's a great camera for beginners both young and old! The optical zoom is good, but it's only a 3x, which is one of the only things I think could be improved. File transfer exceptianally simple. Doesn't use AA batteries etc - has its own rechargable battery, which is good, long lasting, but can be a tad expensive if you want to buy a spare.
I got this camera for my birthday in pink and although i am a BIG pink fan i love the fact its in pink but i think that is the only positive thing to say about it!
For a start to upload the photos onto the computer you have to either have an SD card reader (which most modern computers do have) but most laptops do not have. or when you buy it it comes with a USB cable however i lost this and the USB slot on the camera is so small it is impossible to buy one anywhere else except from fuji which costs alot more money than just a normal USB cable.
Also i see some else already said about the shutter opening in someones bag and the battery being comptley drained when you go to use it. I had the exact same problem i found myself constantly cheecking it in my bag t make sure it hadnt opened to save my battery. Very annoying. Having 2 children i like to be abel to take photos as and when i need them not finding my battery comptly dead.
Also i didnt really find the photo quality great.
As a result of this pretty rubbish camera i wouldnt recommend it to anyone and i now just use the camera on my phone as it is so much better than this camera.
Dont wast your money on this!!!!!!
I bought this camera in pink just before my leavers prom, over a year ago. I was looking for a new camera for a few weeks beforehand but it got to the afternoon before the big event and I still hadn't got one so as this was on offer in Tesco, I went for it! I honestly wish I hadn't bothered... There is very little I like about this camera. The colour is pretty nice, I suppose!
I have found two main faults with this camera; the first being that the shutter will often slid open when it's in my bag, which turns the camera on and drains the battery by the time I've got to where I'm wanting to take pictures! There have been many nights out where I've got to the club three hours after leaving home, gone for my camera, got it out and - nothing. Nada. Since this camera doesn't take AA batteries, you don't have the simple solution of swapping them over. I could, of course, take the battery out and only put it in when I want to use the camera, but it's quite small and fiddly and let's face it, just a hassle.
Secondly, the lens is just... awful. Maybe I'm a bit of a snob here because I also own a Canon DSLR but I can hand on heart say that I will never buy another point and shoot that doesn't have an extending lens on it! Because the lens is fixed in the body the zoom sucks and many images come out grainy. The flash is weak and often doesn't fire when needed, or fires when it's not needed (especially perilious when you shoot it around horses and other animals)! The shutter lag is worse than on my parents camera which is nearly 4 years old now and despite it being 8mpx, you can rarely tell the difference between the Finepix and my parents camera - which has a mere 4.5mpx.
There are a few small redeeming features; the video function is decent, it records sound as well as movement and you can zoom in a limited amount whilst you're recording, but it is quite grainy and obviously no match for a proper video recorder. The sound quality is better than I expected, but I have nothing to compare it too because my last point and shoot didn't have sound recording! It is also a very easy to use camera, none of this twiddling dials to change between settings, no complicated 'big button for photo, small button for on, middle button for delete, end button for this' - You simply slide the shutter open and press the big button to take a picture.
Overall I'm looking to upgrade my camera at christmas and can't wait to get shot of this one, unfortunatly.
I recently bought this camera from my friend but I would recommend it, to any inexperienced photographers as well as those who just like to capturing beautiful moments.
The Fujifilm Finepix Z10fd comes in different colours varying from black, red, orange, blue and green. Mine is red and I have it for the past six months and I am very satisfied till date.
Some characteristics of Fujifilm z10fd:
3times optical zoom
When I bought it, I was given in the box:
* Installation CD which is compatible with Windows Vista XP Home, XP Pro, 2000 Pro., Me, 98SE and also Mac OS X 10.3.9 to 10.4.9
* The digital camera (obviously)
* The Li-ion Battery NP-45
* Battery charger
* AV cable
* USB cable
* Owner's manual
I am really satisfied with my camera, it is the first one I have and though it does not take top quality pictures, it is enough to capture some moments. Its design is fashionable not bulky but compact and easy to put anywhere.
You can use Memory cards namely the xD- Picture card and SD memory card or SDHC memory card. I use a 1GB memory card for the moment which suits me right now. You must before buying one check it on the website. The memory card is placed in the slot next to the battery so there is no real complicated manipulation.
The battery can be charged for about 3hours or more and has a long durability, I charged my battery two months ago and it is just now that am charging it again, that also depends on how long you have been using the camera.
To switch on and off the camera, you just have to slide the lens cover on the lens. If you do not use your camera for ten minutes it usually switches off to avoid battery loss. Once you switch it on, you have the ability to choose the languages from English, French, Chinese and others that I don't really know ;). You can modify the date and time all in the setup. To access the menu is easy, there is the big button with "Menu/ok" in the middle so you can't really miss it.
Another button that is on the Fujifilm Finepix has the 'face detection', 'zoom back' and 'zoom forward' and playback options. I really like the face detection because it focuses on the person's face and then after having snapped the picture it instantly zooms on the person's face so that you can not use zoom, it instantly zooms it. What I also like is the antiblur option which allows you take a picture that won't appear blurred even if you are moving. The red-eye option automatically corrects the picture. There is also the flash and timer ( 5s or 10s).
You also have different shooting modes:
The LCD screen is 2'5 which is fairly big and usually lets you have a good image of the picture you are taking; the flash though can be blinding and has several times left me dazzled but in general I just love it and I mentioned I would recommend it to anyone who likes pictures.
Thanks for the reading
This is my latest and most recent camera. I bought this around a year ago and i am quite aware that it is slightly old. However i must say i am quite disappointed in the performance of the camera.
I had previously had a Fujifilm prior to buying this which unfortunatly got stolen and i then replaced that one with this. If i am brutally honest i would say that the camera i had previously to this i did actualyl prefer! this camera does have many bad points which is a shame.
One example is that compared to my older camera the screen is although bigger very poor quality and looks like its one of the first ever colour screen phones.
Another point which i find much worse is the fact that the battery is appaling. Maybe i have a faulty one but i dont think i can go much over an hour taking pictures without it moaning for power which simply isnt acceptable for such a product.
so overall i would not recomend this product as for the most important requirements for a camera it simply does not satisfy my needs.
I was given this camera as a present for my birthday. Firstly in my opinion this is one of the most stylish cameras available and is also very convenient. The camera is roughly the size of a credit card although obviously slightly thicker. In terms of the picture quality the camera takes a good picture and its anti blur option helps to reduce the blurred effect that some cameras often leave with just the slightest movement of the hand. One of the best features of this camera for me is the quality of its face detection technology. When taking pictures with the camera it automatically seeks out and increases the focus on faces in the picture. I am not going to deny that there are clearly cameras out there that take a better picture however for the price of this camera the photos it produces are more than adequate.
In terms of its ease of use the Z10fd is very simple and easy to use. The camera has a minimal amount of buttons and it is easy to work out what they do which is ideal for kids and people who don't like fiddly products. It is also very simple to transfer photos from the camera to the computer. The camera has a reasonable battery life and is very durable.
I would recommend the product to anyone seaking a resonably priced camera for soical events and nights out. I would also highly recommend the camera to any parents looking for a camera for their kids due its stylish appearance and it is available in a large range of colours including red and pink.
I bought this camera as I was fed up with the poor battery life and slow shutter delay on my last camera.
This camera is very easy to use and has a fast shutter delay in the light (so it captures pictures quickly before people move), however I have found that in the dark it can take slightely longer to take photos.
It is very quick and easy to upload picture onto the computer, and the battery that it comes with last quite a while after one charge. However if it has no battery it wont upload any pictures to your computer until you have charged the battery.
Its small enough to put in your pocket, or carry around in your handbag, and the lens is covered by the slidey bit on the front of the camera when not in use. It is easy to view and delete photos from the camera, and it comes in some funky colours!
I purchased this camera about a year ago, fed up of relying on my mobile phone when I needed snaps. Its 7.2MP and in my opinion produces some decent quality images when on the right setting. The settings include: museum (which turns of sound and flash), snow (ideal for really bright conditions) and sport (also good for images, with a slightly quicker shutter speed). There is also an auto setting which will adjust things for you but if you want the best pics I would suggest having a play about with the additional functions.
The battery life is really very impressive, I took it to a music festival last year and it lasted 5 days and took over 300 pictures. The zoom on the camera was also very well adapted for such an environment where you aren't always as close to the action was you would like to be but still want decent photos.
The internal memory only holds 19 pictures so I would recommend purchasing additional memory cards, but this is only a minor issue as they can be purchased very cheaply nowadays.
I have used the camera indoors at music events numerous times and I have obtained some really nice pictures. It is also ideal as the shape makes it really easy to hold and a wrist strap is included in the box, so the likelihood of losing the camera in the crowds is reduced.
I would recommend this as a potential Birthday or Christmas present for a teenager or as a first digital camera to have a play with. It's good value for money and the colour options mean that you are bound to find the perfect one!
If you have any more questions don't hesitate to ask and I will get right back to you!
