Advantages: Great camera, lots of modes, video function, easy to use
Disadvantages: Occasionally get a 'card error' message, probably need a memory card for lots of pictures
I've had this camera for a few years now and it's still just as great as when I bought it! It was around £100 brand new when I first got it, which was - and still is - brilliant for a 10.0 MP camera.
They come in a variety of colours (I have blue) and come with a detachable wrist strap, lithium ion battery and charger and USB connector (to connect your camera to your computer to upload all your lovely snaps!). There's also space for a memory card, which I highly recommend purchasing, as it boosts your storage space nicely.
There are 12 buttons in total on the camera, most of them on the back next to the amply-sized screen. These include: face detection on/off (great for group snaps!), zoom in/out, play (to see the last picture you took), delete/antiblur, flash on/off, macro on/off (good for taking pictures of things that're small and close up), timer and finally the main 'menu/ok' button.
You can select so many different shooting modes from 'concert' (gives you more anti-blur function so you wont have blurry pictures even if you're jumping around) to 'sunset', which makes colours more vivid and intense. It's great fun playing about with them, and some work really well, however others don't so much - well, I don't see too much of a different. For instance, even though 'sunset' makes colours more vivid, if there are people in the shot they have an odd orange tinge to them - not a great look for on the beach.
The zoom function is great though, and you can even have the 'extra' zoom on, which allows you to zoom in much further, however this risks the picture quality. Even though, the pictures usually turn out pretty well!
You can also alter the picture and movie quality, however be warned that the higher the quality, the more memory it'll take up, so I usually stick with a standard quality to get enough pictures as well as videos.
Overall, this is a great little camera to have, with a good battery life and enough room for your holiday photos, however the only problem I've had is occasionally I get an message saying 'card error'. This has lead me to reformat my memory card - and lose all my pictures in the process - more than once, which is disappointing. However, this may just be my camera, so don't let that put you off!
Summary: A great camera!
