The Fujifilm finepix Z30 is a handy little camera that is great value for money.
It takes photos very quickly so is very useful for action shots on holidays and days/nights out. Comes with a range of functions and features, on an easily understandable menu with explanations of important details. These include self timers, macro (for close up shots) and a range of flash options, amongst more complex features such as face recognition and auto scene recognition. The pictures are great quality, specification is 10 megapixels so is great for basic photography, I have found this specification to be more than enough.
It only has a small internal memory but you can pick up SD cards quite cheaply (for less than a fiver) on the internet which allow you to take hundreds of photos. The battery life seems to last for ages, hours of photography, and hundreds of photos, which is useful if you have forgotten to charge it up.
The lens does not protrude out of the camera so cannot be so easily damaged, which I have found often gets damaged on other cameras, and the still provides 3x zoom features despite this! Although I would still recommend keeping it in a case so prevent further damage whilst out and about if possible.
All in all, these is a really great pocket sized camera for a very reasonable price, I would definitely recommend it!
I received this camera as a gift and have to say that, considering the price it is a really nice little camera.
My dad recently spent over £300 on a larger camera that was meant to be great and really good quality and I have to say that having used both, most of my family (including my dad) said that this camera out-performed the more expensive one.
The picture quality is great and very clear. When uploading and zooming into photos on the pc, you get a really clear photo, with lots of detail, even if your not the best photographer in the world.
It has enough functions to keep it interesting, but not so many that you feel lost. You can do a lot with this camera and it does have some special effects that you can apply to photos whilst still on the camera. You can trim photos for a blog, remove red eye, rotate images and copy to name a few.
I like the special shooting modes such as beach, party, sunset and auction mode. There is a good range of these to choose from and it seems there is one for every occassion. It also has a video function which will film for up to 38 minutes. The video function is not as good a quality as the photos but that's why it's a camera and not a video recorder.
I find this very easy to use and would not want to be without it. It is really compact and I find the battery lasts for ages. The camera storage isn't great but, you can use a memory card, which is always a good feature.
A really good buy and easily the best in it's price range.
