THE SPECS

5.1 megapixel Resolution.
3x optical zoom, 8x digital zoom
32Mb internal memory with SD card slot.
Li-lon Battery
Support For Windows 98 and upwards.

HP supplies the Photosmart in two forms. As a bare camera it retails for about £175, or you can buy it with the docking station for £205.

The dock is just there to make life more easier transferring photos to the pc (it saves you messing about with the USB slot.) The dock has several other features including a battery charging slot and HP being the very nice people that they are have thrown in a spare battery so you can always keep one charged.

The dock is very good value as replacement battery's for cameras can be quite expensive.

The camera has an odd appearence looking at the metal construction, including lens housing which shhot off when you turn the camera on. The buttons are plastic although the construction is good quality the R707 doesn't feel as well made as say a Canon IXUS.

This is a small camera that is light enough to tuck away in your back pocket, the camera is so small though you have to grip the camera with your fingertips and it does not feel secure enough.

The quality of the pictures is excellent I took a picture of a £2 and the graphics were simply incredible. The flash has a fixed brightness but you can adjust it. When I went outside and took pictures there it was a bit grey and gloomy but the garden was amazing.

In the adverts it says that this camera has 24x zoom, which is rubbish it has a 3x optical zoom and a 8x digital zoom. You can't disable digital zoom in the setup. I think the LCD screen is very tiny 1.5". the dimensions are 494x242. With the camera it can be quite tricky to take shots but once you get the hang of it it is a fine camera to have......anyway

Hope This Helps!

Although I personally wouldn't choose an HP camera, this one sounds good value for money.
