I received my hp photosmart camera last Christmas time as a present from my boyfriend. I visit quite a few places throughout the year and with my daughter growing up I never like to miss a moment. The camera I had at the time had the smallest screen imaginable, it also ran off batteries and only Duracell seemed to have enough strength to power it which ended up very expensive. I mentioned that I would love another camera with better features and hence getting this one as a gift.
The hp photosmart camera is black in colour and looks rather old fashioned from the front, by this I mean that it is plain black and has the lens based in the middle of the camera and to be completely honest it looked rather basic as cameras go until I turned it over and seen the amazing 3.6in touch screen on the back. I think the touch screen is definitely the focus of this camera.
The touch screen is an asset to the camera and it is incredibly easy to use. I must admit when first learning that the camera had a touch screen I panicked thinking I would never know how to work it but the set up is straightforward so there isn't much room for getting it wrong. The touch screen menus provide in-camera editing functions which means you can add borders, modify colours and add artist's sketch version to your pictures. From the photo enhancement tool you can also make someone appear slimmer, hide spots and fix any red eyes.
This hp camera also lets you tag your photos which help you to organise them for uploading to the pc. You can list them each in categories to make it easier to create a gallery. The camera contains a re-chargeable lithium ion battery which is great instead of having to buy new batteries each time the camera is used. Once fully charged the battery will last all day even when used a lot which is fantastic and rather surprising considering the 3.6in touch screen.
Some of the features of the hp photosmart are:
Product description - HP PhotoSmart R937

The touch screen on the camera is highly responsive and only has to be pressed once to move into different categories or view photos. Viewing photos on the screen is extremely easy due to the size. The camera is a very nice size and makes holding it very comfortable you can easily hold with both hands while still having a clear view of the screen.
I think this camera is really fun to use and I like the added extras of changing the pictures and editing them however you want them. This camera basically seems to have everything I need from a digital camera plus more and for what the front of the camera lacks in appearance it makes up for in features.
I would definitely recommend this camera to anyone who likes taking social photos of good quality. I really couldn't do without it and after browsing some cameras lately for my parents I really didn't see anything that quite compared to this one. You just can't beat that fantastic screen.
This camera cost £200 which is rather high but it really does have the quality and they could actually be a lot cheaper now as this was a little over a year ago.
