When I bought my PC back in 2001, I purchased a bundle that also contained a HP Photosmart printer and a Umax scanner, so I thought I might as well complete the package and get myself a digital camera. As I couldn?t buy one with the bundle, I decided to look around for a good, but not too expensive one in various stores and web sites. I?m no professional photographer. I just wanted something to take snaps of family and friends. My search took me to Staples where I found just what I needed. I bought a Kodak DC3200 it cost me £160 at the time. When I bought it I also got with it some batteries, Kodak software, a lead to connect it to my computer and a user ... Read the complete review

I grew up in a very "photographic" background. My uncle is a professional landscape photographer, my grandfather was an avid semi-professional photographer and Dad has always been a very keen amateur. My sister and I had our own cameras from the age of 7 and were always encouraged to use them frequently. Until quite recently I really turned up my nose at the thought of a digital camera! It could not possibly be the same as an SLR (Single Lens Reflex), and it somehow seemed like cheating! I saw some work a friend had done with a digital camera and thought that perhaps they had a niche. I do not believe that it will ever replace my "proper" ... Read the complete review

If you are at all like me, then this will be a familiar story. You decide to go out for a day with a few friends, maid monkey on tow to take care of the picnic and to keep the champers cold. You bring along a camera, and get all manner of wacky, zany snaps of a brilliant time which you will, with the aid of afore mentioned photos, remember for years to come. The next day you hurry along to snappy snaps and give them your film, opting for the rather expensive 1-hour option because you simply can’t wait. Finally you get the prints and – 36 photos of sun glare, huge thumbs and seagulls, nothing else. Worse still, absolutely nothing because the film ... Read the complete review

Well, lets see - the primary reason for buying this camera was the price and the brand. Justifiable reasons? Did I do the right thing? The price - £150 is pretty low down on the amounts of money that are constantly being paid for digital cameras nowadays. This makes my think that a camera that only costs this amount of money must have some severe drawbacks - in my opinion not so if you're buying it for general point and click leisure pictures. Why? - It has an LCD viewing screen. Essential for deciding whether to keep a picture in the memory, and in telling you whether you need to take the picture again because you've cut everybody's ... The DC3200 really scores on price - for a little more than £100, you can have a good, basic digital camera for good quality snapshots. Good points : Price - you get Kodak quality for not much cash. LCD Screen - great for framing your snaps, and showing people what you've just taken Ease of Use - very easy to use, and the on-board menu system (accessed by using the LCD screen) is very friendly. Quality - surprisingly good resolution and picture quality for such a "cheap" camera. Mine has taken some lovely shots. Bad points : No Lens cap supplied ! Flash is far too bright, and will wash ...
