One of the latest models in the Kodak digital camera series is the DC3800. Weighing in at 165g without batteries and with dimensions of 95 x 33 x 61mm, it is so small that it can fit into the palm of your hand. It has a 2.1-megapixel resolution, 24-bit colour CCD array and supports two image resolution settings; 1792 x 1184 (Best/better) and 896 x 600 (Good). It showed from the pictures that I took that it was capable of producing good quality, clear images, which can be transferred to prints of up to 8x10 inches in size. The camera comes bundled with a video cable for connection to a television. It also has an integrated two-speed digital zoom and a USB Compact Flash ...

This is a great camera for a first time digital user. Depending on what you pay for it (I had mine through Ebay for about 150 gbp, refurbished with a year's warranty) it does offer good value. The zoom is a little limited but does the job - don't expect too much. Macro is one of the main drawbacks, get in too close and all you'll get is fuzz! Battery life is short - make sure you get a couple of decent sets of rechargable batteries. Picture quality is stunning if yu use the highest resolution - you couldn't ask for more from a camera of this price. Also essential to full enjoyment will be a bigger flash card (8Mb supplied gives you only about a ...
