Advantages: Rugged, easy to use, reliable, good battery life.

Disadvantages: Poor picture quality, lack of features, small viewfinder.

We use these cameras at our school (a secondary school) for our pupils to do various bits of digital photgraphy. The rationale behind purchasing them was that they were inexpensive, relatively simple to use and fairly rugged. For the purpose that we want they are perfect, they produce pictures of acceptable quality (don't think you are going to win any prizes) and are working well into their 3rd year. It has a 3.1 megapixel sensor which produces shots of around A4 size without distortion. The camera runs on 2 AA batteries and lasts a good amount of time on these. Connection comes in the form of mini USB with the cable provided. The internal memory holds about 10 shots so you will need a SD card to shoot more than occasionally. The casing itself feels solid and rugged with a large dial at the top allowing selection of various modes of shooting (our kids only use auto!) As well as that this camera has a 3 times optical zoom. Would I use this camera myself? No. Is it ideal for our pupils? Yes.

Summary: Not one for anyone who wants quality. Good for a school.
