Kodak Easyshare DX6340With the stylish 3.1 megapixel (MP) DX6340 - the smallest 4X optical zoom camera on the market today - consumers can choose between simple point-and-shoot modes or from a host of advanced user modes including aperture and shutter priority. Print quality, up to 11"x14", shows exceptional performance when compared to most competitors in the same product class in internal Kodak benchmark testing. The DX6340 produces clear pictures with exceptional color under any lighting condition thanks to Kodak's Color Science algorithms, which are designed to match the vivid colors of traditional photography. I have had this Camera for about a year now and it is the first digital camera that I have owned. The decision to go digital was purely a financial one. I was planning a trip around Europe and I didn't want the expense of having to develop all the rolls of film I was planning to use. The camera cost me £199.99 from Amazon but is now available for just £149.99. First I will start with the camera's specifications; it is not a particularly small camera but not a large one either. In my opinion this camera is around about the perfect size. Not too small that you are fumbling to use it properly nor too big that you can't carry it around with you ... Read the complete review

Full review ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ -- I decided to buy a digital camera as a Christmas present to myself and decided on the Kodak Easyshare DX 6340 as it appeared to offer both value for money and great specs for the cash. I was not disappointed! I bought the camera from Dixons for £179.00 and took a lot of pictures over the holidays in a variety of conditions. The picture quality of 3.1 megapixels is more than enough for an amateur camera user like myself. My partner, who is a keen photographer was also pleased that he could adjust settings like the apature and he was impressed by the ... Read the complete review

I got this camera in December 2003 and have been using it continually since. having not used a digital camera before, I was very surprised at how easy this is to use. I decided to go for this model as I wanted to get the best quality pictures possible at an affordable price. I looked at a few cameras and was swayed by Kodak because of their DX6000 photo printer. I had previously owned a Canon 35mm camera which I really liked, but after years of spending a fortunre on film developing only to get half a roll of decent pictures back I decided it was time to move on to digital. I am not the best photographer and the idea of seeing the picture before printing ... Read the complete review

I think that this is a brilliant camera overall. I would advise people to not use the software provided cos it does wierd things with your pictures, like keep thumb nails even if you delete the image(i think it does this only if you delete the file from your windows file dirrectory-but lots of people do this). YOu don't really need the software anyway though-so its not a problem. Would be better if kodak compressed the phot better when it is stored on the camera because it looses some of the quality through there file compression i think. It would be better if they just saved it as a standard jpg and allowed the user to adjust the compression and ... Read the complete review

The build quality is garbage - very flimsy construction. The software is a conjob, rigged by Kodak and Apple Quick Time, they give you the basic software and then pressure you to upgrade to the premium software. This racket is supported by the firmware being set to only take movies in MOV format, and the files after full conversion in to AVI (RADTOOLS) and then WMV, with almost no discernable loss of video or sound quality, compress down to 1/7th their size. Kodak and Apple do dirty deals for mutual kickbacks. Online registration is a conjob, as "registering for warranty" also means that not only do you have to fill out a 72 question ...
