Advantages: So many functions, Easy to use, Fantastic zoom

Disadvantages: A bit big

I got this camera in December 2003 and have been using it continually since. having not used a digital camera before, I was very surprised at how easy this is to use. I decided to go for this model as I wanted to get the best quality pictures possible at an affordable price. I looked at a few cameras and was swayed by Kodak because of their DX6000 photo printer.

I had previously owned a Canon 35mm camera which I really liked, but after years of spending a fortunre on film developing only to get half a roll of decent pictures back I decided it was time to move on to digital. I am not the best photographer and the idea of seeing the picture before printing seemed brilliant. One of the plus points of this particular model over some of the cheaper ones is the size of the preview screen and the fact that it is anti-glare, so you can see your picture in any light.

The DX 6340 had all the features I wanted, a good zoom, a date facility, background settings, light adjustment, red-eye reduction and all that jazz. It even has the ability to take pictures in black and white or sepia!

I like the fact that the facilities on this are automatic, you switch the camera on and the zoom lens slides out, the shutter opens, there's no problem with the thing not setting up properly just because you didn't slide the lens cover across properly first time!

The camera comes with everything you need to be able to get yourself up and running, batteries, a USB cable, the computer software, a manual (if you really need it) and a cable to plug the camera into your television so that you can see your pictures on a bigger screen or even set up an automatic slide show.

I love this camera, it is great for novices like me who aren't professional photographers, but do enjoy taking pictures.
