Advantages: Price, quality of images & compact

Disadvantages: Does not come with case :(

This camera is great for all crafters who need to showcase their projects online. I bought this camera as I was fed up was my husbands which could only take 3-4 shots before needing to be recharged. I bought it in Tesco in February for under £50.
It is very sleek and comfortable to use with it's ergonomically shaped body it fits well in the hand. The screen is 5cm x 3.7cm in size and does the job easily. Im no photographer but I found the controls very easy to navigate and use. It offers a variety of options; 'automatic' for when the light may not be quite as good as you would hope as it adjusts everything for you. Often in dim light it will flash just before the lens opens and marginally after - reducing the chance of red-eye. I mainly use it for very close up work so select the flower icon and it is excellent as it means I can get within 30cm of subject and by gently pressing the shutter it automatically focuses and shows you the image before you decide to click or not.
The zoom is an excellent facility in so many different sitiuations and it operates quickly and smoothly. Dont worry if you forget to readjust the zoom back to normal as the camera will do so after a set period of time and it also turns itself off after a set length of time; thus saving your batteries.
Talking of batteries the Kodak batteries in the camera when bought lasted me about a week, at first I assumed the camera must be faulty but obviously there is no way of knowing how long those batteries have been sat in the unit before purchase. I changed to Tesco - greener living everyday rechargeable and they work great and take just a few hours to fully recharge. You will always know when the batteries will need recharging as you wont be able to turn the camera on in the first place. I wish I'd known this at the start!
Downloading the images couldn't have been any easier. Plug the cable into the camera (supplied) and the other end into your pc and, once loaded - which was faultless- the system runs automatically showing you all of the photos within seconds allowing you to make your choices.
The quality of the image is crisp, clear and bright. I cannot believe it is from such an inexpensive camera. Kodak is certainly a name to aim for as I believe you are getting stylish, quality equipment at affordable prices. It makes photography accessible to many more people as it is so easy to use I would not hesitate giving it to a grandparent who claims to be a technophobe and what a perfect gift for a teenager!

Summary: Excellent all-rounder, ideal as 1st camera or for an older technophobe!
