Advantages: Easy to use, robust, great picture quality
Disadvantages: Tricky image download, lack of extras included
I was brought this camera as a birthday present from my girlfriend who's not the most technically girfted person, but she's more than excelled by pickign this digital camera. I think it was on special offer as well, which makes it even more of a decent buy.
The camera is small, compact, pretty robust (no drops as yet to comment on, but you feel like you can bash it aound a bit without too many problems). The controls are all cheery enough, nothing too fiddly or delicate. Controls are easy enough to use (although in typical man-style I've not really bothered to read the manual). There's a good choice of effects adn shooting modes such as landscape, nighttime, daylight etc and with a bit of practice of actually reading the manual, the pictures might not be as temperamental in terms of quality! Taht said, when I do manage to get the settings right, the image quality is fantastic (it's a 9MP after all).
There's picture management and editing software included, which is fine, but a bit overwhelming and nothing you can't get elsewhere. transferring over the pictures to your PC is pretty straightforward, although again, I'm sure if would be easier if you'd read the manaual. That said, I've not found an automatic storage detect function, which may be my PC, or an annoying issue with the phone - it's detected, but you can't open up the memory directly from My Computer.
It's a bit big, and there's no case or extra memory included but all in all, an excellent entry-level digital camera.
Summary: Does what it says on the tin
