Advantages: small, compact, lightweight, stylish
Disadvantages: keeps switching itself on, broke after 18 months, eats batteries
I had this camera as a christmas present in 2003, mainly because I was going on my first trip to florida the following year and wanted to take a decent camera to capture my memories.
It worked really well! The pictures were clear, with a good flash, and the zoom function was great, especially when talking pictures on the rides at the theme parks meaning that even if you didnt get to close you could still see things after as it does not lose that much qualty when zooming in.
I was really pleased with this camera, although it did tend to eat batteries. Whether I bought expensive batteries or cheap ones they only seemed to last a day or so before I had to replace them, and this was when only taking around 20-30 photos a day. I did find that Ikea's own make of batteries lasted for around 3-4 days before replacing.
I also quickly found out that if you dont put it into a cover the wheel on the top that is used to switch it on and off and to switch between photo and video mode kept turning itself around and taking pictures of the contents of my bag.
The carry strap also broke really quickly, luckily while it was in my hand so it didnt crash to the floor.
My next problem, which is very major is that it just simply doesnt work anymore. I have used it for the above mentioned holiday, a birthday party, another holiday and a graduation, and when I went to use it a few months back I tohught the batteries needed replacing again, but no matter what i put into it it wouldn't work.
So having used it so little I was quite shocked that it has broken so easily and quickly. I don't know whether mine is just a dud, but I was very pleased with this camera when it did work. It was my first digital camera and I found it very easy to use without looking at the instruction booklet.
Another good point which was excellent was when i registered the camera with the kodak website. For the first few months I received emails which contained hints and tips on photo taking, and I regularly recieved updates to the software which was excellent.
Overall I am pleased with this camera, I just wished it would have lasted a lot longer, although I now feel confident enough to invest in a camera with more features which is a bit more expensive because of my experience with this one.
Summary: Claer and concise, easy to use but eats batteries

- 25/10/05 Hey everyone, the price was £99.99 at the time, but I didn't pay that much as I had it from work and had 10% discount, although I believe they retail for around £65-£80 now. |

- 24/10/05 What a shame it didn't last that long. Can't seem to see a price on your review. x |
