The Kodak Easyshare CX7300 is, in every sense of the word, cheap and cheerful. I got mine at a very reasonable price (can't remember exactly how much though) about a year ago and it's lasted me without breaking down, losing quality, or so on. The picture quality is really good, it's 3.2 megapixels, and it has a screen on the back so you can view what you're taking pictures of, and ones you've already snapped too. There's a slot too for MMC cards so you can increase the memory if you so wish. There's even a tripod screwhole and a dock connector port.
