Advantages: small, low cost, 6.1 megapixel
Disadvantages: software (minor), software (minor)
The kodak 7630 has to be one of the best digital cameras around at this moment in time. The camera has one of the highest mega pixal amounts of all the camera within the £180-£300 pound price range.
As soon as i got the camera out of the box it was fairly self explanitry how to use the camera, virtually a point and click. The camera has a big lcd screen to view the picture you have just taken which is really handy in comparisson to a normal camera,at least you can see if the picture is any good especially if your having photos taken with celebs regually.
I think there should be some sort of cut out on the camera when the lens cover is on as a number of times i have switched it on and it has forced it off.
The camera comes with a 32mb internal memerory which only holds about 14 pictures at full reselution so i would advise buying a 512 sd memory car so you can hold 161 pictures on it.
The camera can only take pictures in the jpeg format so file sizes are never huge which is handy.I printed out four picture on A4 paper at a processing shop and was blown away by the sharpness and clarity of the pictures, top notch.
The camera has a 3x optical zoom and a further 4 x digital zoom which is pretty good when you have such a large megapixal value. There is also a video mode on the camera and with my memory card i can record an hour on it but i have not bothered using this feature as i dont want to waste space on the memory card.If you want to take more photos using less space you can lower the megapixel level in megapixel increments which if you dont want to produce as big picture as i do then it could be useful.
The camera has kodak easyshare software making it extremely easy to transfer picture to your computer to view but the photo editing programme could be more advanced as there is only limited functions.
The camera is a small handy size and is small enough to fit in most peoples pockets. The camera has a load of modes like portraits, and nightime photography with delayed shutter speeds for things like firework displays however the camera must be held steady. It also has an anti redeye function but i always tend to leave the camera on auto mode so when you hold the button down halfway the camera chooses what the target subject is.
In my opinion the best camera for its price range and well worth the money.cheers james :-)
