Advantages: Compact and comfortable to use
Disadvantages: Looks a bit old fashioned
This camera comes in black silver and brown of all colours. It's by Kodak literally THE most recognisable name in photography, at least for quality prints that is. Coming from a large family there are lots of cameras in the drawer when it comes to choosing one for a special occasion or a fun night out. This one appealed to me as I have a kodak easy share printer and printing up the photos I take is very simple when using them both in conjunction with each other.
The overall look of this compact digital camera is quite nice but nothing special. The one we have is the silver model. It's light enough to carry around and is very comfortable to use, by this I mean it sits snugly into my hand and all buttons are easily within finger reach. It has a very good 14 mega pixel resolution this results in great pictures for such a small camera. It also has an image stabiliser that I find most people like to use to guarantee there photos will be in focus and not ruined by a shaky hand.
It really is small at only W 10.1, H 6, D 2.6 cm. It has one of my favorite functions that seams to be on nearly every camera available today and for good reason. FACE DETECTION this makes all the difference when taking a photograph as it focuses the faces perfectly, no blurry faces with this camera. You store all your photos digitally on to a memory card, as far as I can recall one is NOT provided.
This camera has an impressive looking lens it is telescopic and come out a good bit, making it quite impressive with it's square cinema like front. it has a handy red eye reduction / prevention mode that I love. This saves me a lot of time having to photo shop them out on my PC.
This little camera has a good but not great 8x optical zoom. I always look for the best optical zoom possible rather than a digital zoom as the optical version gives the best results. It does however have 720p high definition video recording. One tip I will give you is to have a spare large capacity memory card for video and a separate one for photos as 2G card can store lots of photos but very little high definition video. There is a mini HDMI connector so you can view your photos or video on a large screen. The LCD screen on the back is only three inches but this is enough to see the photo you've taken and make adjustments as needed such as simple cropping.
This isn't the absolute best camera we have at home, but it's one of the best.
And the ease of printing when used with it's namesake printer makes it all the more lovable.
Summary: Great to use and easy to print.
