Advantages: Good range of features, reasonable price, easy to use.

Disadvantages: Not as thin as some models

Note: I own the silver model, as opposed to the black model in the illustration.

It wasn't until I was in my first year at uni that I began to properly notice, and appreciate, digital cameras. I realised most of my friends owned one, and soon photos of me and friends began appearing on Facebook. I decided then to get one of my own, so I could capture my time at uni forever. After looking at the various makes and models, I opted for the Kodak Easyshare M753 which seemed reasonably priced and had a wide range of features. I wasn't disappointed.

LOOKS
The camera is easy on the eye, with a sleek silver or black finish depending on which colour you choose. It is small enough to fit in a small handbag although not slim enough to slip into a pocket comfortably.

One slight gripe with it was that when I peeled some of the sticky tags off the camera front it left a lot of sticky residue on the surface which neither looked or felt very nice. Luckily I managed to remove it with a cocktail of toothpaste, rubbing alcohol and sellotape!

FEATURES
What impressed me most about this camera was the wide range of features for such a basic digital camera. It's very user friendly, offering automatic features which are enabled by default for less advanced users. This means the camera chooses which settings are best for the photo depending on what it detects. For example, when the flash is on auto detect it will only flash when the camera tells it that a flash is necessary. For advanced users, it's easy to tweak the settings for the perfect photo.

It also has several modes including Quiet Mode - for museums and galleries, Digital Image Stabilisation for when you're on the move, Close-up for high quality shots, High ISO for pictures in low light conditions, as well as Landscape, Beach and Snow optimised conditions. These are only a handful of the best features this camera has to offer!

It also comes with a short video option, which is quite nice little extra to have when you want to take a short good quality video with sound to add to your photos.

It comes with a small amount of internal memory, but I purchased a 2Gb SD card to expand the memory, which for photos is more than enough - I recommend you do the same. The photos are easily transferred from the camera to your computer via the SD card or using the cable required.

DURABILITY
My camera came with a thin plastic protective screen cover, and I am one of those people who likes to leave the protective cases on things. As a result, my screen has remained absolutely perfect since it was purchased in December 2007!

FINAL THOUGHTS
I love this little camera and it's been more than enough for my basic leisure photo needs. I've dropped it numerous times, and although the outside has been scratched slightly, it's never broken. The battery life is superb and I rarely have to charge it, and I would recommend it to anybody who's looking for a sturdy little digital camera with a good range of features.

Thank you for reading.
