Advantages: easy to use, great clarity

Disadvantages: battery

The V series is Kodak's premium range of compact cameras, with this particular model being one of the top two. For a 12mp camera, it has a great price tag, often being found in shops for around the £120 mark.
Th V1233 is nicely styled, although not as slim as some of its competition. However, you do get the feeling that it is a solid camera.
The camera is easy to use, with all its functions asscessible at the touch of a button. It has a 2.5" screen with 230k pixels display. It also has the usual set of features which are average for a camera in this class.
Linking it to your computer is simple, as is editing the photos on Kodak easyshare, where you can also order prints online.
One major drawback with this camera (at least the one I had), was that about a month after buying it, whilst on my first holiday using it, it simple packed up on me. When pressing the 'on' button, all the lights would flash, the lens zooms out and the LCD screen briefly flashes on, but then it cuts out and the lens closes again. I knew it was not possible that the battery was dead as this was a new camera, but as a precaution I bought a new battery which, to no suprise, made no difference. A friend of mine had a camera from the same range (10mp counterpart), so I tried their camera charger with my camera, and again to no avail. At this stage I was fed up that my new camera had packed in so soon (I have had disposable cameras last longer). It was then a case of returning this camera to where I bought it, and buying a different make.

Summary: good for the price, has power issues
