Great camera for around £100 (Kodak Easyshare V1253)

Advantages: stylish, nice feautures and easy to use

My girlfriend bought me the Kodak Easyshare V1253 for Christmas. Mine is in white, and looks very compact and stylish. Straight out of the box, the first thing you notice is the impressive wide screen dispaly which enables the user to review their pictures and video's with ease. The camera is heavier than it looks, which I took to be a good sign - I have had cheap, low end cameras before and they were very light anf flimsy. The camera also boasts a high quality Schneider zoom lens. Having now used the camera for 8 months I can confidentally state that it is an excellent, user friendly piece of kit.
Navigation is made simple via the use of the joystick (located on the rear of the device, next to the display screen). Just scroll through the menu and press the top of the joystick to activate your selection. This mean that pics can eaily be viewed/edited using the impressive wide screen display.
There are plenty of nice features when it comes to taking your pictures-you can easily set the camera for general picture taking, or for the more advanced enthusiast, you can specify if you are wanting to photograph close up, portrait, landscape, action, long distance, etc.
The on board video camera is also high quality, and the built in mic means you can also capture sound.
As always with digital cameras, the built in memory is poor so you will need a memory card (not included)
The kodak easy share software included, is easy to load and access, and allows you to store and edit your pictures on your pc or paptop.
Overall this is a well made, quality camera, and for around the £100 mark is an absolute bargain!
