Advantages: Easy to use, lightweight and compact, great pictures

Disadvantages: doesn't hold larger sd cards

I bought this camera about a month ago, and I am really pleased with it. I am a complete novice at photography, fortunately this seems to have been built with people like me in mind. Every imaginable scenario or subject has a designated setting providing the ideal picture. So if its snowing or if I am watching a fireworks display, I just have to set the camera to the relevant setting, so there is no playing around with complex manual features.

The image quality is very impressive, providing crisp and clear pictures with brilliant colours. The 10X optical zoom is also a great feature, particularly for such a reasonably priced camera.

My only real complaint is that it doesn't accomodate the larger sd storage cards (i.e. it wouldn't accept the four gig one I bought the other day) which is a shame as when you are a novice like me, it seems best to take lots of snaps and pic the best one out of a dozen efforts.

overall though, exceptionally pleased, reasonably priced, lightweight and robust, and offers a plethora of features I am still working my way through.

Summary: Would reccommend to any novice as a decent pick up and go camera.
