Advantages: 3 in 1, Cheap , Firmware updated
Disadvantages: Short battery life, No carry case, Tv lead is extra
This was an inpulse buy which I don't regret, but some may. As a camera the quality is not great but ideal for email attachments. It performs best outdoors where it will store 112 pictures with the supplied 16mb compact flash card. It can also be used to record video in quicktime format which at the 20 f.p.s. rate is good quality but you only get 20 secs with supplied memory. Having said this the potential is great with the price of CF memory coming down a 256mb card would be ideal. My main use for this is the mp3 player which is very good , I have compressed my mp3s down to 32bitrate so that I can fit more on and they still sound great played through my car stereo with a cassette tape adapter. It can be firmware updated which means that should any new music format come out or mp3 format changes then it will be able to cope with these changes , I have done an update already with no problems. Shame it didn't come with a case to protect the lens and lcd screen. The 3 alkaline batteries don't last very long, but i have used rechargeable nm-h that last ages. There is a video out to tv connection on it but the lead is optional at £17 which is a bit expensive but on the whole I am very happy with this camera which was worth it just for the mp3 player .I can't wait to get a nice big memory card for it!
