Capturing a sharp image couldn't be easier. Minolta's Area AF uses five separate focusing blocks to create an extra-wide focusing area. When your subject is in the area, the DiMAGE F300 automatically selects the block that gives you the best shot. And if your subject starts moving, Subject Tracking AF will change the active focusing block appropriately to keep it in focus. The active block is clearly marked in the LCD monitor for your convenience.

Not only is it a great camera, but the DiMAGE F300 also works great with sound. You can record up to 3 hours of audio in 8-bit uncompressed WAVE format. Alternatively, when you just want to say a quick something, use the Voice Memo function to record a 15-second audio file instead. If a still picture isn't enough, just switch modes and capture a 20-minute movie that's 160 x 120 pixels in size. Or, to get higher resolution, select the 320 x 240 option and record for up to 3 minutes. Should dim lighting keep you from capturing a movie? Certainly not. In these situations, the DiMAGE F300 automatically boosts its sensitivity so you can take color movies in the dark. When playing back either movies or audio recordings, you can fast forward through the file to get to the part you want to see or hear right away. Backward scrolling is also possible. Make a note of when, where, or why you took a shot by giving it an audio caption. A caption can be up to 15 seconds long. Use the camera's built-in speaker to listen to your recordings. Volume can be conveniently adjusted.

Capture an entire sequence of images at once by pushing the DiMAGE F300 into overdrive. Its UHS continuous shooting mode increases capture speed to 11 frames per second.
