Advantages: Easy to use. Great shots. Feels like an SLR in your hand. Good features and value for money.

Disadvantages: The red-eye reduction option doesn't work too well for me.

This was my first digital camera. I had always used a Minolta SLR 35mm and don't like the little 'cigarette box' size digital cameras. I had tried the smaller digital cameras and think experience of owning SLRs means this style of digital is better.

The body of the case is a lot tinnier to touch than I thought it might be, but is light in weight.

I'm not an expert but it felt good in my hand and the results are pretty impressive. There are a lot of features I will never use - but thats the same for all technology isn't it?

I'm delighted with it. It feels sturdy when held and is easy to handle. It makes the transition form 35mm SLR to digital much more acceptable! The quality of the images is good and options for picture taking are comprehensive and imaginative.

The 'bracketing' function is excellent - allowing you to explore different exposures etc with one press of the shutter. For those of us who are not photographic experts it both covers varying results so you get a shot right and a chance to learn from it's function.

I work in publishing and the images have been good enough to reproduce in books and magazines.

I haven't used the video function much - but it does seem to work pretty well.

The only drawback is that it would have been great to have angle adjustable built-in flash, but I suspect thats just a ruse to make us buy one as an extra.

I imagine I will upgrade to a more expensive digital at some point, but am so impressed with Konica Minolta so will probably stick with the make.

A note on where I bought it...
I bought this from Jessops in Carlisle and was very impressed with their customer service. They actually listened to what features I wanted and how much I wanted to spend and were able to pinpoint the perfect camera for me. The first three shops I went into seemed not to have heard what I wanted from a camera or how much I intended to spend and were more keen to sell me what THEY wanted my to buy.

Summary: A sturdy mid-price range camera that takes good shots.

You will find that you get more reads and better ratings if you take more time on each review you publish and publish less of them on a single day. Being new it's often best to have a read around other's reviews to get an idea of what people like to see included. Hope this helps you. Belinda
