Great camera for snapshots - but... (Konica Revio C2)

Advantages: Size, Ease of Use, Feel Disadvantages: Battery life
I just bouhgt a Konica Revio C2 for my mother to take holiday snaps. The look and feel of the camera and its interface, particularly for its size was a big selling point. I was originally sceptical about the image quality from the tiny lens, but I think the results were as (if not better than) expected. It doesn't produce the sharpest of images ("super-fine" pixel setting offered little advantage over "fine") but it is brilliant for snaps. Dark against bright subjects can appear a bit smeared but the manual exposure override might help with this. It is very simple to use and has a surprising number of advanced functions for a small camera. Connecting and downloading to the PC was very simple. Battery life was very disappointing from standard alkaline batteries (15 shots). Only Duracell M3 batteries managed to achieve the full specified operating time (100 shots with screen on). NiMH rechargable may be a good alternative. Colour view screen is great and would probably save battery power if turned off. Summary: |
