Minolta Dimage E201Even though it is loaded with great features, the DiMAGE E201 is still amazingly compact and lightweight. This makes it easy to carry around when you're taking a short walk or a long vacation, or going on a business trip. Operating the DiMAGE E201 is as simple as using a film-based compact camera. The main camera controls are designed for intuitive handling, and all are placed near each other to ensure comfortable shooting. To create sharp and highly detailed images, the DiMAGE E201 features a high-performance CCD with a total of 2.3 million pixels. At this level, you can enlarge parts of the image without losing definition, and also get satisfying large-sized printouts. The camera's CCD is enhanced by the inclusion of a high-quality lens. This lens contains five elements in four groups, with three aspheric elements to minimize color aberration, flare, and ghost images. In terms of color reproduction, the CCD also includes an RGB color filter that ensures excellent color fidelity right down to the smallest details. |

I physically compared both cameras side by side (I had read test reports on both and also printed out sample shots from both cameras). Finally the Minolta won. This was decided on construction, power source (metal hydride AAs), design and performance. I have since found that it is a wonderful camera to use ...
