Advantages: everything, compact, 3.2 million pixels

Disadvantages: none

I had been looking for a cam for a long time and i saw this one which i bought from a supplier called TLC i would recommend them if you live in the UK. I looked on there website and i saw this cam which had alot of features i will list them now:
3.2 megapixels
3x optical zoom
4x digital zoom lets you seamlessly extend your shooting range to 12x zoom
Spot metering / Spot AF
Macro
B/W & Sepia
Built-in flash
Startup in an incredible approx. 1.1 seconds
High-speed playback in an astounding approx. 0.2 seconds
Quick View /Delete button
Lithium-ion Battery Charger design lets you recharge the camera by placing it in the docking port

This is my first digital camera and so far I am mightily impressed. I would definitely recomend getting the proper Minolta camera case for this camera due to its specific shape. Even when in its case it fits easily into a pocket. The camera is so easy to use, I was taking pictures as soon as the battery was charged. The charging stand is also a great idea. So far I have only had excellent results, albeit I have probably only used a fraction of the cameras capabilities. The supplied Minolta picture editing software is also very good although you do have to print out the user guide as it comes on CD.

This is a camera you can take anywhere, and it's really intuitive - the buttons are in all the right places. It comes with a cradle you can sit it in where it will happily charge itself, without needing to remove the battery. I looked at the Minolta F200 and F300 (I like Minolta!) and they were poorly laid out and felt wrong in your hand compared to this one.
As for the vignetting (dark edges on images) that everyone seems to be going on about, I haven't noticed it at all. I think people just like to whinge!. If you want to spend thousands on a different camera, go ahead, but there's no point. If you want a small, well-designed camera to take anywhere, bu
y it before word gets around how good it is, and they all go from your local camera store (or internet emporium!). It does exactly what it says on the box.
I am very impressed with this camera. The picture quality is absolutely fabulous considering the very compact body. The optical zoom lens works inside the body so is unlikely to get damaged. There are enough overrides to cater for most situations and the build quality is simply superb. The rechargeable battery lasts ages and comes with a simple charger base for the camera to sit on. The software package enables you to tweak the results but you don?t really need it.
I am told this camera is short in supply at the moment but it is well worth the wait.
