Nikon Coolpix 775

I bought my Nikon Coolpix 775 in January of 2003 just after my daughter was born, so I could take plenty of pictures of her as she grows up. Back in those days the camera had a high street price of nearly £300 but by the power of the internet I got it for just under £200. I believe you can now get the same model for even less, around £170 making this one of the cheaper models, especially when you take into account that Nikon is a fairly respected camera manufacturer. The Nikon Coolpix 775 is my third digital camera to date, and the best of the bunch. Previously I had a Largan Chameleon (very basic VGA capability), and a Minolta Dimage 2300 (reasonable picture quality, but heavy and no optical zoom). I upgraded to the Nikon when I needed something compact, with good picture quality, and an optical zoom. The Nikon hasn't let me down in any respect. It has a 2mp CCD, which is slightly less pixels for your money than the 2.3mp Minolta, but I find the picture quality surpasses the theoretically better Minolta. I needed a reasonable quality digital camera for family photos and one that all my family could use straight away. I was a bit surprised to find the little Nikon at around the same price as cameras that were manufactured by computer companies and the like. Being renowned for quality optics I choose the Nikon, hoping that their computer buffs had produced good software to rival the excellent lens. It was Christmas morning and I rushed downstairs to see what there under the tree.When we all got round to opening presents to my great delight I opened the wrapping paper to reveal a ?Nikon coolpix 775?!I looked at the digital camera in amazement.Later that day I rushed upstairs to try it out!
