Advantages: TINY, light, good picture quality
Disadvantages: zoom could be better
It was Christmas morning and I rushed downstairs to see what there under the tree. When we all got round to opening presents to my great delight I opened the wrapping paper to reveal a ?Nikon coolpix 775?!I looked at the digital camera in amazement.Later that day I rushed upstairs to try it out! The manual was extremely easy to understand but I could?ve probably figured out most of it without the manual at all!The camera is silver and looks stylish and jazzy. The on/off is a slide mechanism in a circular shape. There is another circle to choose which mode you want! There are 10 different modes to choose from.I generally leave mine on auto as it seems to detect the situation rather well and uses the appropriate settings! There is also a movie mode which allows you to take short 15 second movies.Unfortunately no sound can be recorded! When you first get the camera you have to insert the date and time and you can choose whether is appears on your pictures or not-this is a handy feature! The camera fits in your palm, and is extremely light! There is a colour LCD screen on the back of the camera. With this you can view pictures you have taken (and delete them if you wish) and change options etc.You can view thumbnails of taken pictures as well as seeing them on the full LCD screen. There are 3 picture modes.Fine (pictures great quality)-normal (not bad quality) and basic (you are running out of space on you flash card aren?t u?)!As you can probably guess fine pictures take up more room on your compact flash card (this is needed to store your pictures on) than normal and basic take up even less! The actual camera is 2.1 mega pixels so you get great quality! The auto focus feature is fantastic! In the actual box you get: The Nikon coolpix 775 camera Wrist strap (handy for keeping hold of your camera!) USB cable (needed to transfer your images to your PC) Video cable Rechargeable Li-ion battery (has
a good battery life) Battery charger CD with Nikon view 4.0 and fotostation easy software 8mb flash card (right this isn?t really big enough-I suggest buying a 32 mb flash card if you want to make good use of your camera!) The zoom facility on the camera is pretty good but if you use top zoon-the quality of the picture isn?t as good when enlarged! There is a 1 button transfer system which is great. The pictures transfer to your computer lightning fast! You can delete photos from your camera using your PC too. The average price of the camera is about £270 and a 32mb flash card can be obtained for £30!I truly need to emphasise the light weight (185g to be exact!) and tiny size of this camera because if you haven?t seen it you won?t believe it.there are smaller cameras out there but none that deliver these kind of results. This camera will also stand a few knocks without breaking!I believe Nikon have truly got it right this time. The combination of tiny size with great quality means I would recommend this camera to anyone!
