Advantages: Good clear shots, great viewfinder

Disadvantages: A bit bulky

I splashed out after reading several different magazines and articles for Digital Cameras.
Being ignorant to types of photographic elements, I just wanted something to point, shoot and download.
This I found with the Nikon. Not saying this doesn't offer other advandced features, its just I haven't mastered them yet.
The build quality is excellent and is very easy to use by the complete novice (me). The big benefit I found was the viewfinder, good size and clarity for taking and viewing shots.
The manual is quite bulky but details all the functionality of the camera. It does lack a simple download instruction though, being a computer boff it was working in seconds, however when I lent it to someone they did struggle for a while.
The overall quality of the picture is very good and more than adequate for my needs. Ranging from 1600 x 1200 to VGA and holding a large amount (78?)of shots in 1024x768 on the included 8Mb card, made this a worthwhile buy. I also got the accessory pack of charger and battries and an additional memory card. I found the accesories reasonably priced.

The alterantive I considered was an Olympus, and I would be interested in the overall difference in quality.
