      Brilliant camera for Amateur photographers.

This is a brilliant hand sized camera from Nikon. This camera has a 8.1 mega pixel resolution which is 8.1 million pixels meaning there is a lot more detail into picture outlines. It also has a 3.6x zoom meaning you can get very close shots of very small things such as incects or flowers . For anyone looking for a camera which you can just carry around in you pocket, then this is a good camera for you. Below I have split the review into sections of which I believe to be important to the use of having a camera and rating /10 along with a comment.

      Resolution: 8/10
Sure, 8.1 Megapixels is not the best resolution in the world and you can proberbly find cameras with more pixels and cost less. Though.... anything over 8 megapixels won't look much different to that with 8... it really depends on how big you want your pictures.

      Picture Quality: 8/10
Such precise and beautiful pictures can be produced using this little camera. Even though it doesn't have tones of pixels, the overall quality is brilliant. Sometimes it does catch movement and doesn't take it out but always usually looks brilliant.

      Features: 7/10
You have a lot of options for taking pictures, you have night photo, landscaping, nature ect... loads of different photo modes. The only downside is navigating through the menu's.... can be quite difficult sometimes.

      Power Consumption (Battery) 8/10
Often lasts very long... if you turn it off when not using it. Normal batteries don't last particually long but rechargeale batteries seem to be the best.

      Processing Speed: 7/10
It is rather slow. Once you take a picture in very high quality it does take a while for the picture to be processed into memory.

      Stuff included: 9/10
Within the box it comes in you have many different cables. These cables are used for linking the camera to the computer and also connecting to your TV. Useful when your on holiday with your family and you can show your pictures on a big screen without a computer.

      Overall: 8/10
Brilliant little camera. Has a very high resolution. Lots of different options for photo taking a photo. It's the size of your hand so is very portable and you don't need to have a computers to show your pictures off. Great for the amateur photographer.

*This camera is not ideal for photography experts but very good for amateur photographers.

A reliable, affordable camera for the amateur photographer

This camera is excellent value for money. It has many easy to use features and produces high quality photographs. This is just the camera to buy for those amateur photographers, who want to record those happy holiday moments or family celebrations without having lots of technical and professional 'know how'. It is easy to set for both indoor and outdoor photography. You just set, point and click. It couldn't be easier. There is also an anti red eye feature and if you want to record an event in motion, it also has a video feature. This camera is perhaps not as compact as some other models on the market but it is good quality and reliable and will fit easily into a large pocket or handbag. It is also easily carried around the wrist for easy accessibility. It has certainly not let me down and I have the photo albums to prove it!

Blending photographic performance, traditional camera styling, and operating stability with an advanced feature set, the COOLPIX P50 is a compact digital camera that conservative camera users can truly enjoy. Built on Nikon's innovative EXPEED digital image processing concept while incorporating the precision optics of a NIKKOR lens, the COOLPIX P50 is built for optimum performance and maximum image quality.

The COOLPIX P50 combines 8.1 megapixels of resolution and a digital image-processing engine for outstanding imaging performance. The COOLPIX P50 also features a 3.6x Zoom-NIKKOR lens with 28mm wide-angle capability that covers a range from panoramic landscapes to close-up portraits.

Electronic Vibration Reduction (VR) image stabilization technology enhances the shooting experience by counteracting the effects of camera shake or movement by unsteady subjects to realize sharper results. Extended light sensitivity up to ISO 2000 further helps prevent blurred shots when shooting in lower light conditions or when capturing fast-moving subjects.

Its optical viewfinder enables accurate composition, even in bright sunlight conditions, making it a handy complement to the bright 2.4-inch LCD monitor. The COOLPIX P50 power is supplied by readily available AA-size batteries, which means the COOLPIX P50 can be used in virtually any location without worrying about recharging or running out of power.
