After having searched for months for a decent camera, I finally decided to visit a little shop in the town I live in, where a gentlemen suggested this camera.
I was really determined to get a 10 Megapixel camera, but after having purchased and used the camera, I found the 8.1 Megapixels of the Nikon P60 was more than adequate for my needs. The shots that I've captured on the camera, are much better in the sun; which i'm sure is true with any camera. This one likes the light and takes much better photos where the light is of a great amount.
I have found that the battery consumption for the camera, however, is high. I use my camera on a regular basis and find that I am constantly going through new batteries for the camera. The amount of batteries I use increases when I have to use the flash to take photos.
There are many different settings on the camera. I find it best to use the "automatic" setting when taking photos indoors; it decides which mode is best for the light intensity that the room is giving. Although, the High ISO setting takes amazing shots when the light is bright enough. There is also a setting called "Scene" on the camera - this setting has many different settings within it. One of these is a "Close Up" setting which takes AMAZING photos of close up things, such as flowers and faces.
Finally, the optical zoom. I have zoomed to pretty much the full amount of zoom that I could on the camera and have still managed to shots that are clear and amazing quality for that length of zoom.
Overall, the camera was a great purchase.
I think it was well worth it.
