Disadvantages: Picture quality but read the review

Although I am not a professional photographer yet I am interested in the nuances of photography because I consider it to be a very very important part of aesthatic life. When I was a kid my father bought a Rollichord which my 2nd elder brother was very fond of and used to take amazing pictures. What he used to say was it required great amount of skill, and if you have that the picture reproduction will be glass like. And really they were. In fact it had to have every thing adjusted manually, even the aperture and shutter speed. In fact even in the not so very past quite few studios used either Rollichord or Roliflex for their use. But now every thing has changed, obviously because of advancement in technology and to suit the modern ultra fast speed of life.

But Canon, Nikon and Sony has always captured my imagination for churning out best cameras one after another which of course is a healthy sign for consumer. Because competition ought to lead to reduction in price and improved quality. Nikon Coolpix S 220 is a reasonably good camera considering its price. I don't think that pros or for that matter serious amateurs will really be hankering to own it. For every body I must say it's a cool and sexy acquirement.

''In a nut shell the basic positives and negetives of the sexy Nikon Coolpix S 220:'

''Pros:' Ultra-stylish design, small and light, good feature set for asking price and range of cool colors, including red, black, magenta, purple and several shades of silver (I loved these) and blue. It measures 18 mm to the thickest and weighs 100g.

'Cons:' Patchy flash, image quality is merely adequate

It is equipped with 2.4"LCD screen

Nikon introduces its own get-the-faces-right system comprised of automatic red-eye fix, improved face-priority AF, and smile- and blink-detection. I must say the Nikon Coolpix S220 is so very well equipped that should satisfy most if not every body and casual users will love it (like I do). It has a reasonably good 10 megapixel effective resolution fitted with a 3x optical zoom NIKKOR lens which has a sensitivity range at least upto ISO 2000 add to that a new user friendly technology like BSS (Best Shot Selector) and motion detection, which must enhance its night life credentials. It adjusts its ISO and shutter speed, eliminating problems with the movement of the subject and camera shake, helping it do away with streaks of light and ugly motion blur from under-lit or dimly lit pictures. The ½.33 in CCD sensor works excellently both indoors and outdoors reducing noise with images taken at ISO 400, giving sharp, crisp and the detail is very good. But you might land up with a bit grainier picture quality while shooting indoors. Shooting with it out doors should give you reasonable satisfaction indoor shooting, well might not satisfy you to the best. The Flash is patchy and gingery. In fact the flash is its weakest link.

On the whole Nikon CoolPix S 220 is a solid and smart little performer offering good performance across the board.

Looks:

The most seductive feature of this camera is it looks and it what make it stand out from the crowd, may be it not quite distinctly an entry level camera. Sleek and sexy it chronicles the social life you live at an amazing price. It has all it boxes ticked at the right place. If you are a fashion lover and love to click what you like just go for it. It is bound to make you happy and others envy.

A unique feature is Nikon's introduction of smile and blink detection, red eye fix, improved get-the-face-right system, improved face priority AF, manual focus property and a host of others. Quite some features.

At a price around $149.95 or even lets it's more than good shopping
