Nikon Coolpix S2600
Advantages: Small and easy to use
I brought this camera on a whim because I was bored of taking poor quality photos on my handheld mobile phone. I wanted to capture my memories in a better quality, so I brought this camera from Argos for a shocking £49. At the time I brought this from Argos I noticed it was on sale in one of their in store show cabinets. Whilst browsing through their catalog I found that they had a lot of different models of this Nikon Coolpix but I admired this model the most. I was set at first on getting a blue one but unfortunately, even though it was in the catalog I was told Argos didn't sell it, so I settled for this colour. What really caught my attention with this product is that the design was swift and smooth in its shell casing. The designed was matched well with its vibrant colour. I think this handheld digital camera could pass for an accessory because of its colour and slim rectangular shape alone.
The product itself is really easy to use and it functions really well. It doesn't crash and neither does it lag. On the back of the design there are several buttons. One that lets you stop and start video recording, one to take pictures and another to view pictures, a circle button to navigate and change settings and a center button as a somewhat action button. There is a button on top of the product that you use to capture. The pictures themselves when on your PC or Laptop are huge. I re-size mine to the standard 800 x 600 pixels because keeping the original size photo takes up way too much space. This is efficient if you have been on holiday and have way to many photos. I usually keep the iconic photos they're original size just encase in the future I want the blown up. The pictures can be held on an SD card, which you have to buy yourself and does not come free with the camera. I have a nice 8GB and have taken over 400 photos whilst on a day trip and it filled up half of the SD Card space.
The only downside to this digital camera is that it doesn't have a timer so if you want to be in the photo too, there is no way of taking the photo, other than to get a stranger to take the photo.
The product comes with a charger and a computer wire, however I have never used the plug adapter because you plug the USB computer wire into it and whilst you are uploading pictures to your PC or Laptop the camera charges through the laptop anyway. So this is very efficient.
I don't have the exact specs for the camera but I am sure they can be found on the technical page here or on a Google engine search. However, I would thoroughly recommend this product to a friend and to anyone who has little money but wants a decent long lasting camera. I would also recommend this to a person of any age because it is really easy to function. I have recommended this item to the family and now my nan has one.
Summary: This camera is excellent and I would thoroughly recommend it.
