Nikon Coolpix S3000
Advantages: Great Quality, Durable, Cheap
I purchased my Nikon S3000 around 4 years ago now for £99 of Jessops when it first came out. This was the first camera I bought as usually i just used my phone and i was really impressed.
This little nifty camera has been with me on holidays, around the UK, Family Events and just usual pictures of the pets! But each and every time it hasn't let me down.
Easy to use?
I am no photographer but i am good with technology but this camera is so easy to use! Its simply point and click. The zoom is really easy to use which is simply a slider on the button you use to shoot. And the zoom was really good its 4x zoom however for every day photos this is more than enough. As for navigating the menu to change settings or change to video, it has a 4 point keypad which is really easy to use and the navigation doesn't have to many options so it would be hard to baffle me.
Taking the photos from the camera to computer is easy to you have two options you can take out the memory card and plug it into your computer or use the cable connection. If my battery was running low i would use the cable as this charges it as well as transferring the images.
With new gadgets and devices i am finding the battery lasting less and less however once this camera is charged it lasts for ages! Before i go on holiday usually a week i ensure it is charged fully and i wouldn't have to charge it again till i got back even with using flash. I have a bridge camera by Samsung where you use normal AA batterys but if you dont use Duracell and use the flash after about 3 photos to batteries are dead.
Quality of Photos?
As i mentioned earlier i am no photographer but the pictures i have taken are of excellent quality, i have uploaded the majority on facebook and the colour quality of the photos is fantastic, i.e the blue of the sky is a beautiful blue not pale or grey it really stands out.
Some of the photo's I have printed out at Tesco with their self printing machines, really easy to do just take the memory card. I haven't had any problems with printing out the pictures and the quality is just as good on screen which is because of the 12 megapixel camera. When using a less powerful camera and trying to make photos they would be blurry as trying to fit them onto photo paper size.
Value for Money?
Complete and utter value for money, this camera has been on many journeys far and wide with me and for £99.00 its a great quality camera, durable (its has been on a few sledging adventures) and because I didn't pay hundreds for the camera should it break in the near future i feel i have had used it well. A nice little thing about the camera is the colour choice instead of the normal black or grey it has a fantastic colour selection, mine is lime green!
Over all great camera, for every day photos and well worth the money!
