An excellent camera (Nikon Coolpix S6)

Advantages: Large screen, quick to take photos, easy to use

While looking for a camera a while ago, I was astounded by the amount of choice available. I wanted a simple, easy to use camera, and didn'' know where to start. I first thought about a Kodak Easyshare; but when reading reviews on it it felt like it wouldn't be a fast enough shot. Next I considered a classy Samsung. But with these it felt like I was paying more for the band than what the camera was worth. So I kept on looking.
While shopping at Boots, of all places, one day, a 'sale' sign caught my eye. When I wandered over to check it out, I saw My Camera.
It was small enough to carry, without being too small to get lost in my bag. The screen on the back was larger than most that I have seen, taking up most of the camera. And it was reduced!
The camera is around four inches wide, and of that over three inches is screen. The screen is good quality and high resolution. The front of the camera is very plain and sleek looking-just how i like them! The lens, although still having a 3x zoom, does not extend out the camera.
The camera switches on through a small on-off button at the top of the camera. As soon as you switch it on you can see and start taking photos. There is also the zoom switch, shutter button to take pictures, and another button on the top of the camera. This button can be pressed when picture taking is being done, and a smiley face appears around the main feature of the photo. It turns yellow if you seem to have the correct place for your focal point, and I also find it seems to steady the picture slightly and stop any blurring.
Next to the screen, there is a larger circular button, with symbols on, a button that says 'menu', a button with a picture of a dustbin on, one with a large 'M', which says mode underneath, and lastly, one with a picture of a camera underneath. The camera one is to review pictures you have taken. Simply press it and you can scroll through everything you have taken.
Next, the 'M' button. This is the shooting mode button. When you press this, a ring appears on the main LCD screen. From this, you can choose what you want your shooting mode to be. There are options for portait, landscape, action shots, and also options for using the Wi-Fi which comes as standard on the camera, along with a few more.
The menu screen changes as to which shooting node you are in. This covers areas such as the sensitivity of the shot and copying over to memery card.
The dustbin can either be pressed once, to delete the last shot you've taken, or pressed while in the review mode to select which pictures to delete.
The circular button is used to navigate through these menus, and also to change the flash or set the timer while taking a photo. It has an 'OK' button in the centre to be used for selections.
I find this camera very easy to use and navigate, and for the quality of photos, it was a very reasonable price at £125. Several members of my family have started using Nikon Coolpix cameras after seeing how easy this one is to use.
