Advantages: Great looking, fab picture quality, excellent video feature

Disadvantages: easily scratched, low memory

I've owned the Nikon ZCoolpix S610 since Christmas 2008, and to be quite frank, it's become one of my essential "handbag" items. As a user of social networking sites such as facebook and myspace, the Coolpix cam provides high quality photo's that are easier to upload onto the computer then ever before.
The easy to use machine means that this really is an item that can be fished out and used within seconds, great for those once-in-a-lifetime shots! Much like the other Nikon cameras, the mechanisms and buttons are easy to understand- I never had to look at the instructions, it can be pretty much turned on and understood.
Out of the settings, the best of all is, although with close competition, the portrait feature- with a steady cam and face recognition device, photos can be snapped at brilliant quality, in seconds, in difficult situations (The strangest for me, whilst diving on a friend in the dark wrapped in a quilt- and yes, the photo looks great!).
Another great feature is the video option, who needs a camcorder with a digital character with this much memory and at such brilliant quality? To illustrate this point, I am in the process of shooting a short film for a university portfolio on mine.
The camera looks attractive and comes in a variety of colours, although I own the burgundy, my personal favourite is the black version. If I have one negative thing to say about the camera, it is that it scratches easily so a case should really be purchased alongside it. All in all, a fantastic bit of equiptment!

tech specs: 3.0 screen (nice big view), optical Vibration Reduction (stabilization), a nominal ISO sensitivity range from 100 to 3200 and a 4x optical zoom lens that provides a 28 to 112mm focal range.

Summary: A really great piece of equiptment, although in need of a memory card and camera case!

a bit more technical information would be good.

screen size, is there a view finder, how many MP etc.

If you add these let me know and I'll take another look and re-rate.
