Nikon D40 (Nikon D40)

Advantages: Good Price Disadvantages: Low Megapixels I had been meaning to get my hands on a DLSR for a while and went for the D40. It is reasonable priced and had a number of good reviews and Nikon is as good as any camera manufacturer. I wasn't disappointed, it is easy to use and the results are excellent, you can just pick it up and take photos on the auto mode with no effort at all. It you want more advanced features it also has plenty of these, various different modes for portraits, night shots, beach and also a manual option which lets you learn more about the camera while at tweaking the settings. Overall if you are thinking of getting into the DSLR market the D40 is a good camera to start with. The only downside is the megapixels but unless you are going to enlarge your photos above A3 size this is not a problem as it delivers clear crisps pictures. Summary: Overall Excellent Camera
