A good starter for SLR (Nikon D40x)
Member Name: golden-wonder
Advantages: Fast, Light, Easy to Use. Disadvantages: Rear screen not used as viewfinder, mutli-shot stops after 5 photos This is my first digital SLR camera. And I must say, for a 1st time with SLR I couldnt recommend an easier one to start you off. Mine came with the Nikon 18-50mm lens, a good starter too. After a quick scan through the manual (a must!) I was snapping away at everything I could to get some practice. The fast processing speed is immensely useful! The viewfinder has a helpful exposure meter built in to know how light or dark the photo will eventually turn out. The auto focus on the lense is very good, but overall it is not as good as the Tamron or Sigma attachments that you can get (but dont get me wrong, it serves very well!) The camera is also complete with focus point options, to move the focus point from the left to centre for example. The camera also has a fast multi-shot option but I have found this to stop after a certain amount of photos. Overall I would recommend this camera to all those starting out with SLR, or people in need of a quick light SLR camera Summary: Perfect for moving from a bridge to SLR camera
