Advantages: Video is excellent, Crystal sharp image quality, Built in HDR mode, Thinner TFT, Night vision.
Disadvantages: Special effect only in Jpeg no Raw file, Focusing is bit slow, Live watch response little slow.
Good points: At first my impression was it i smaller than the D5000 which I had used before. More compact body and some creative new effects introduced. The new night vision allows the camera to take extremely low light photography. It has a thinner TFT with excellent resolution. Built in HDR mode is an excellent feature as well. Easy to access live viewing mode using the auto returning lever. Auto rotate displays when held vertically. The lithium battery impressed me, almost 500 shots I took in first go while using the live view mode in quite a lot of time.
Bad points:In the creative effect mode it does not support RAW file mode, only jpeg. Getting into the option menu is a bit complicated.Focusing speed little slow and shutter response is bit slow in live watch mode.
But my overall impression is good, worth the money. I am specially impressed with the night vision and increase area of rubber grip, higher resolution sensor and HDR mode.
Summary: Overall a great camera, worth the value.
