Advantages: Its easy to use and amazing quality pics

Disadvantages: need to invest in some lens

After doing a photography A level nearly 4 years ago now, i decided it was about time i brough my self a camera and got back into photography. I am going travelling in November and thought there would be too many amazing picture opertunities that a compact would just not be good enough.

being so long since i did my course, obviously i havr forgotten a lot of what i have learnt and spend some time in jessops asking for advise and getting to grips with a camera.

After some decision, i decided to get the Nikon D60. I couldnt make up my mind between in D40 and the D60 to start with, but i am so glad i went for the better of the two.

The d60, although i have not has it a week seems to be very easy to get to grips with and a quality camera.

This DSLR has 10.2 Mega Pixs which is plenty big enough for almost anything and allow images to be enlarges by huge amount with out the images becoming pixalated.

The camera is suprisingly light, which is really helpful, when taking many pictures. It is also really comfortable to hold and feel sturdy and well build.

It has taken me some time to get to grips with the functions etc- but in all fairness i havent been able to read the manual too much as of yet. So taking this into account the camera is really easy to get used to.

In the few times i have played around with the camera, i have been far from dissappointed, the camera works like a dream and takes some stunning picture.

If the camera is left in auto,, as you would expect the pictures come out ok, but if you are getting an SLR you really want to use it in a manual setting to comprise your own set ups and images.

The basic lens that come on the camera is good, but i am already looking to get a strong lens and it does not have a high zoom- its is only a 3 x optical zoom.

Nikon D60 uses SD cards and is very easy to set up on yout PC is you are looking to use photoshop or any other image programmes.

In regards to the functions on the camera, for the ones i have used currently, they so seem to be really good.

The macro setting, although when i was sold the camera they advised me it wasnt great- i have found pretty good. The amount of detail captured is amazing. However i will be investing in a attachable macro lens.

I have also seen that the other setting are great- even for action and fast movement.

One this i havent yet got to grips about is night or limited light shots- but once i have got this i will write another review.

Overal i think this camera is amazing and i think well worth £350.00- but i will definately say i is worth investing in some new lens- afterall these are what make the difference.

There are loads of instuction videos for this camera on you tube which i have found really help ful.

I am serious happy with the new camera and would advise people getting into photography that this camera would be perfect¬

Summary: so hapy with this camera

A very good review, but you might want to use a spell checker as there are a few mistakes in the review. Also, when talking about yourself, it should be a capital 'I' as a small one isn't right!!!
