Advantages: Quality Pictures
Disadvantages: No Preview
The C1400XL is not a cheap camera but it produces very good quality pictures. I have had mine for 2 years now and I am really pleased but mostly because I got it for £350 (the C1400L version) instead of £900. It has received many awards in reviews and that is mainly due to the picture quality. Is looks and feels like a normal SLR camera and NOT many digital cameras provides that. You even look through the lens to take the picture instead of using a viewfinder. There are 3 picture sizes (640x480 is the lowest and 1280x1024 is the highest). The flash is of very good quality which is very important when taking indoor pictures as digital pictures can look very poor without a good flash especially on a digital camera. It has red-eye reduction and measures the distance to the object. Like any other digital camera it eats batteries. The only disappointing thing is that the LCD display does not provide a picture before you take it (only afterwards). £900 is a lot but I believe it is worth it if you want high quality pictures.
